2025.March&April,No.27樹齢300年の枝垂桜の里，九州中部の浄専寺 Josenji Temple in Central Kyushu, home to 300-year-old weeping cherry trees.

九州中部五ヶ瀬町の浄専寺に樹齢300年の大きな枝垂桜がある。京都の丸山公園から300年前に苗を分けて植えたそうだ。この町はこの枝垂桜の子孫の苗を町中に植えていて、地域のいたる所に枝垂桜が咲いていた。山に囲まれた地域だが、桜を見るために九州や本州から沢山の人たちがやってくる。

隣の街は神話と神楽と高千穂峡で有名な高千穂町で、私はこの町のキャンプ場で宿泊した。キャンパーの半数は外国人で、自転車、レンタカー、バックパックの歩きで旅をしていた。自分の意志で地方の自然を巡っているので、片言の英語で気楽に話が出来て、皆さん日本の田舎を楽しんでいて、話もはずんだ。　There is a large weeping cherry tree that is 300 years old at Josenji Temple in Gokase Town in central Kyushu. Apparently the seedlings were taken from Kyoto Maruyama Park and planted 300 years ago. Many people come from Kyushu and Honshu to see the cherry blossoms.

I stayed at a campsite in Takachiho Town.Half the campers were foreigners, enjoying traveling around Kyushu by bicycle, rental car, and backpacking. it was wonderful to see people from each country talking to each other in Eiglish, I talked in broken English.
